Winter in Sonoma County is pretty mild, with daily highs in the 50’s. So dressing calls for lots of layers. This scarf coat was the perfect outerwear for our trip to Sonoma last weekend. It is so soft and not at all itchy. It also looks just like the Toteme one I have been eyeing, but for a fraction of the cost. I paired it with timeless Chanel ballet flats, my favorite off-white jeans and my Louis Vuitton Pochete Metis.
My little boy was super cozy in his new neutral fair isle sweater from Zara and these kids shearling-lined boots.
Style + Sizing Notes:
I’m just a tad over 5’5″ and am a 25 in jeans.
Scarf Coat: It fits oversized, so I opted for a size small which seems perfect. It is nice and soft and the scarf is not attached to the coat. It also comes in several other colors. I’m thinking of getting it in the black and white too.
Jeans: I find that Madewell jeans always run a size big. I went down from my normal size of 25 to a 24. They have a nice bit of stretch, but hold their shape all day long. They are a beautiful off-white color called “vintage canvas”. More colors are also available.
Chanel Cap Toe Ballet Flats: These are a big splurge, but I am always so happy when I wear them. They just seem to elevate and pull together any outfit. I found that they ran small when I tried them on in store and ended up going up a half size.
Louis Vuitton Pochete Metis: Another timeless piece that is more of an investment for your closet. I have had this for over 4 years and it still looks brand new. It is a highly coveted bag and can be difficult to find. You can find preowned ones, but they are usually priced the same or even more than getting a brand new one.
