I had numerous questions after posting our apple picking adventure on Instagram, so I thought I would share some more details and images from our experience.
Apple-A-Day Ratzlaff Ranch in Sebastopol is where we have gone two years in a row now. We went once last season and have already been twice this past week. The kindness and welcoming feel from the family running the ranch really adds something special to your visit.
Once you arrive, you are greeted and then given an apple picker (a long extendable pole with a little basket on one end) and offered a sack to carry and collect your apples.
There are Golden Delicious, Gravenstein and Roman Beauty apples available to pick. As you make your way through the orchard, you will notice a few picnic tables scattered throughout. These tables are there for you to enjoy by bringing a nice packed lunch from home or some snacks to recharge for more picking.

The u-pick season is late September through October. No reservations are needed. Parking is free and there is no entrance fee to the ranch. Below are the hours, but I suggest giving them a call or checking their website for the most current information.
