This oversized wool-blend coat with a wide scarf attached, is the coveted Toteme Coat. It has been on my wish-list for about a year and it is just as gorgeous as I thought it would be. The border has an intricate ivory blanket-stitch that gives this coat a lot of interest. So far I have worn it with ivory jeans and Chanel ballet flats, and then below with thick black leggings and my new favorite equestrian rain boots.
Style Breakdown and Sizing Notes:
I’m just a tad over 5’5″ and am a 25 in jeans.
Toteme Coat: This coat has an oversized fit. The scarf is attached and can be worn wrapped how I have it on, or simply draped in front of the body. The coat is made out of a thick wool-blend, giving it a ton of warmth and structure. I am very sensitive to wool, but this piece has not been an issue for me. That being said, it is still a wool-blend and can be a bit rough textured. The fit is oversized, allowing you room to layer underneath. I am pictured wearing the U.S. size 6, but I could probably even go down to the size 4 if I wanted less fabric.
Chanel Ballet Flats: These timeless flats are a big splurge, but I am always so happy when I wear them and I know that they will be in my closet for many years to come. They just seem to elevate and pull together any outfit. I found that they ran small when I tried them on in store and decided to go up a half size.
- They run a full size too small, so make sure to go up a size. Going up a half size will not be enough. I am always a 7.5 and I went up to the 8.5.
- They run narrow in the shaft and the toe. They are designed for more narrow calves. If you have more muscular calves, you may not end up being happy with these.
