Reeve Wines is located a few miles from downtown Healdsburg in Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley and is hands down one of our favorite wineries. In addition to their insanely good Pinot Noir, they have a really special ambiance. This is one of those places that you go to and say to yourself, “Why didn’t I come here sooner?”.
Reeve Wines is a bit off of the beaten path and I kind of love that about them. After driving through a big chunk of the Dry Creek Valley, you will need to turn off onto a long dirt road that eventually winds up to the top of the hill where the Reeve tasting room sits. As you walk up to your reservation, a hostess happily greets you at the door and hands you a glass of freshly poured wine. Next you are escorted to your table out on the veranda that is surrounded by mature oak trees and rows of grapevines.
During the week your tasting includes a gorgeous platter of gourmet snacks, but if you go on the weekend they usually serve up complimentary wood-fired pizza right out of the oven.
While you sit, sip and nosh, you can’t help but notice the group of goats grazing and playing across the way. We always take our little boy with us to the tasting and he is delighted to be able to pet and feed the animals.
